Feeling inspired by my recent achievement through using Couch to 5k as speed training, and the fact a lot of the races I wanted to do this year are out of the question due to wedding commitments. I’ve been on the look out for a half marathon to sign up to.
I’m aware of the Great Manchester Run and despite spending every day there at work, I’ve never completed a city centre race in this great city. Initially I thought that this race was out of the question as I’m working the biggest event of the year for work the day before and will be in Tenerife the week prior to the race. But I thought – to the hell with it – and through a moment of madness I signed up.
Given that the race is 9 weeks away I need to start training now so I have taken inspiration from plans across the internet and have created the below plan of attack which I’ll be following.
It’s a fairly intense training plan for me and with a busy few months I won’t have much of a life but I’m determined to beat my half marathon time from the Great North Run last year.
Wish me luck!
