Well I finally did it! Four weeks of (attempting) early morning for four weeks to squeeze in a workout all with the help of Everything But The Cow*.
To be honest when I first started the Wake Up and Workout Challenge I thought it would be easy. I’d flipped through the guide and the moves I needed to do and didn’t see much I hadn’t attempted before; however I take that back! Since progressing onto week 3 & 4 the intensity definitely increased and so did the rewards.
6am: – Wake-up and drink 1/2 carton of Everything But The Cow Shake and 1 glass of water
6:30-7:00am – Complete the circuits described.
7:30am – Drink the second 1/2 of Everything But The Cow with breakfast and 2 glasses of water.
Week Three increased the duration of the workout and added in a little cardio with “The Sprawl” which is a burpee with a pushup. So there was two circuits to complete with a 30 second rest in the middle. Each circuit had 6 moves to master which all target the core. So the inclusion of 20 burpees definitely increased the intensity – oh how I love burpees….
Week four kept the same two circuits with a 30 second rest but increased the intensity by swapping in some more advanced moves. I did these advanced moves a little slower than the rest to ensure I was doing them right – and you can definitely feel a burn!
I’m pleased to say that after completing my challenge I have hugely improved my core strength, whittled down my waist by an inch and am really enjoying starting my morning with a healthy, natural protein kick! My obliques and lower abs are definitely the areas I feel were worked the most which is fantastic!
