So I’m sure all you iPhone lovers have tried the new IOS8 operating system, but have you made use of the new Health app that comes with it?
As someone who never workouts without the help of my phone I was definitely intrigued with the new app. I’m yet to upgrade my phone to the new iPhone 6 (£38 a month from Three) but I have finally downloaded IOS8!
The health app has lots of different tools but most interesting ones for me are the fitness tools; the calorie counting, the number of steps walked, the number of calories burnt and the fact that it can in the future bring all my fitness apps together to give a great view of my performance. The Health App sits alongside a number of tools both on and off my phone that help me with my fitness. I have countless apps – I wrote about Five of my Fav Apps here – my trusty Runners Armband for my phone, Edge In-Ear Earphones* and the X-Mini 2 Capsule Speaker*.
The Edge In-Ear Earphones* are my new running best friend. Sleek, stylish and comfortable; they fit wonderfully in my ear and save me from having to adjust them mid run. Did you know that listening to music while running can help increase your endurance as much as 15%!
The X-Mini 2 Capsule Speaker* is not only very cute but loud! This little speaker gives off great sound for it’s size and has been helping me through my Insanity workouts at home by drowning out Shaun T shouting at me! It expands when I use it and contracts back into a very small size when I’m finished so I can just throw it in my bag. One clever little feature this speaker has is the “Buddy Jack” system which allows you to connect one X-Mini to another, to another, creating a daisy chain of sound. Plus it has 11 hours of battery life – which will come in handy for summer next year!
